Survivors Teach Students
Ovarian cancer survivors in the Sandy Rollman Ovarian Cancer Foundation, Inc. are educating 3rd year medical students in the Philadelphia area about ovarian cancer. The project is designed to have ovarian cancer survivors tell their own stories in their own words and provide information about the very real and often overlooked symptoms of ovarian cancer to medical students so they are better prepared to detect the disease in an early stage. Survivors are educating students at Drexel, Jefferson and University of Pennsylvania, and Philadelphia College of Medicine medical schools. The project is made possible by the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance.
